The creed
“The weight of the papers as a whole is still preserved and comes out fresh renewed with compelling conviction for all whom so besides to venture deeper into the overall gist of its efforts, since we are still attempting only to bridge and harmonize the text, all in itself aligned with 2026 and original plot.”
— Charles A. Murphree, November 6, 2026, on signing the consolidated edition as a whole
In plain terms: the audit weighs the packaging, never the message. The aim is a text bridged and harmonized — its original plot intact, its inputs aligned with the knowledge of the present day — so that the sum of the message is still conveyed, in whatever outfit the age puts on it.
The editor
An independent researcher: no degree, no creditable schooling behind the work — and, in his own judgment, none required. For an independent, “the qualifications only need to be asking the right questions” — and then showing the work so that anyone, of any century, can check it. The apparatus is the credential: sources quoted verbatim from the archive, an era window ruled in advance, grades signed, corrections struck in the open. A degree certifies that a man once passed examinations; this work asks instead to be verified.
The labor was done in the margins of a working life — third shift, a family provided for, the project running quietly in the background — and it was built to outlast its builder: a standard established, a machine that can be re-run, so that a reader seventy or two hundred years from now can take up the same claims with their own era’s knowledge and weigh them again. As with math, there is more than one way to get to the right answer; so too with this literature.
The house rules
- This site is an independent scholarly work. It is not affiliated with, sponsored, or endorsed by the Urantia Foundation. The word Urantia is used descriptively, to name the book under study; the Foundation’s concentric-circles symbol is never used.
- The 1955 English text of The Urantia Book is public domain in the United States. The editor’s own layer — the audits, the apparatus, the revised text, Utantia’s commentary — is his, and is offered under the license noted in the footer.
- Signed work only is published here, and only on the editor’s explicit call.
